Leading figures in UAE business and government heard former UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Lord Lawson of Blaby explore issues facing world finance at the second MEED international business club of the GCC dinner in Dubai on 11 December. Lawson called for a constitution for the EU and questioned the prospects for the early introduction of a single European currency. Lord Lawson is pictured with (left to right): Sultan Bin Sulaymen, chairman and managing director of the Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority and the Dubai Ports Authority; Sheikh Ahmed Bin Sayed al-Maktoum, chairman of Emirates Airlines; UAE Central Bank governor Sultan

MEED's international business club of the GCC is designed to bring leading world figures to speak in Dubai and elsewhere in the region. The next business club dinner will be held in the spring.
