Adoc still assessing bids on Abu Dhabi offshore oil field project
Abu Dhabi Oil Company (Adoc), a Japanese-owned offshore operator, is still assessing bids on the development of the Hail oil field, according to sources familiar with the project.
Commercial engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) bids were submitted for the estimated $200m-$400m scheme in May.
Everything is still under revision, so nothing has been awarded yet, says an industry source.
Companies competing for the project include Indias Essar, Abu Dhabi-based National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) and Spanish group Tecnicas Reunidas.
Adoc is likely to award the contract to the company submitting the lowest-priced EPC bid. It is unclear which group is the frontrunner.
The Hail offshore oil field is located adjacent to Adocs existing operating fields Mubarraz, Umm al-Anber and Neewat al-Ghalan. The project will install production facilities at the field.
