Oman’s Tender Board has awarded Strabag Oman an OR27.86m ($72m) contract for the second package of Sohar airport, Times of Oman has reported. The board plans to float a tender for the terminal building soon. The terminal is set to handle around 500,000 passengers per annum, while other facilities planned for the airport include a 9,000 sq m floor area, parking area for 300 cars, two gate lounges, a cargo terminal building with a capacity of 50,000 tonnes and an in-flight catering building, and a four-kilometre runway.
