The local/German Strabag Dubai has been awarded the main contract on the AED 300 million ($82 million) DEC Towers in Dubai Marina. The project will overlook the marina and involves the construction of a 25 and 21-storey twin-tower residential component and a three-storey L-shaped complex with commercial space on the ground floor. Facilities include a two-level car park, a business centre, a day care centre and an Olympic-size swimming pool.
The mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) contract has been awarded to a joint venture (JV) of the local Menasco Mechanical Contracting and Thailand's Powerline Engineering. Swissboring, part of Italy's Trevi Group, is working on the foundations package.The local Asteco Development Management is the project manager, and the local Architecture Engineering Innovations Bureau (AEIB) is the consultant. The client is Dheeraj & East Coast, a JV of India's Dheeraj Group and the local East Coast Group (MEED 18:11:05).
