Saudi Arabia's Al-Rajhi Industrial Group is in talks with South Korea's STX Heavy Industries (STX HI) to build two chemical plants worth a total of $1.1bn in the kingdom, Meed has reported, citing industry sources. The first plant will produce around 6,000 tonnes-a-year of polysilicon that is used in the production of solar panels. The second plant will produce 100,000t/y of linear alkyl benzene, which is used in detergent production.
