The contract will cover two roads, each of 10 kilometres, to the north and south of the city and a junction. The roads will connect with the 31km highway that runs through the area, forming a new expressway.
The technical specifications for the project are being finalised. The contract is worth SR112m ($30m).
Sudair is being developed by the Saudi Organisation for Industrial Estates & Technology Zones (Soietz), also know as the Saudi Industrial Property Authority (SIPA).
Its role is to promote and develop industrial estates, business and technology parks around the country, and encourage private sector involvement . It manages the kingdom's 14 existing industrial estates (MEED 22:2:08).
