Swedish firms poised for $1,200 million Saudi air defence deal

A spokesman for Saab is reported as telling Reuters on 16 May that it and Ericsson could win a Skr 10,000 ($1,200) million contract for an air defence radar system in Saudi Arabia.

Swedish daily Dagens Industri reported earlier that a Saab-Ericsson joint venture was the only contender for the contract. The system would support US-made advanced warning and control systems (AWACS) aircraft owned by the Royal Saudi Air Force.
