ABB to supply supervisory control and data acquisition systems to Majan Electricity

Swiss-based ABB is the low bidder for a contract to supply supervisory control and data acquisition (Scada) systems to Majan Electricity Company in Oman.

ABB bid RO6.1m ($15.8m) for the third phase of the Scada distribution system project.

Iran’s Hirbodan was the only other company to submit a bid. It priced the contract at RO6.9m.

The two companies submitted their offers on 5 October.

Four other firms had purchased the tender since Majan Electricity issued it in late July, but did not bid. They were India’s Larsen & Toubro, France’s Areva, China’s State Grid International Technology & Equipment Company, and the local MEG for Trading & Contracts.
