Government wants planes with less than 10 per cent of US components
The Syrian government is in talks to buy planes from Russia after US sanctions stalled negotiations on the purchase of 50 Airbus aircraft, Bloomberg has reported. “I’m looking for planes with less than 10 per cent of US components,” Abdallah Dardari, deputy prime minister for economic affairs told reporters in Paris. “That leaves only Russia. We’ve spoken about it with President Dmitry Medvedev. We are in negotiations.”
