Syria’s Public Establishment of Electricity for Transmission & Generation (PEEGT) is seeking a consultant to advise on the country’s first wind farm project.

The deadline for bids is 3 March. The winning consultant will supervise the bidding process and train PEEGT’s staff to handle the project.

PEEGT has already launched the prequalification process for the project. Developers have until 28 February to submit their applications. The client will open the documents on 1 March.

The farm will have capacity of 50-100MW and will be located at either Al-Sukhna, 70 kilometres east of Palmyra ,or Al-Hijana, 50km south of Damascus, or at both sites.

The winning bidder will develop the wind farm on a build-own-operate or build-operate-transfer basis. The project company will design, finance, build, own and operate the farm for 20-25 years.
