System Construct awarded Abu Dhabi polymer additives plant

Polysys Additive Technologies’ plant expected to be complete by the end of 2014

Dubai’s System Construct has been awarded a contract to build a polymer additives plant at Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad) in the UAE, according to industry sources.

The contract was awarded by project operator Polysys Additive Technologies, a joint venture of Abu Dhabi’s Polysys Industries and South Korea’s Songwon Additive Technologies.

The operation will have the capacity to produce 7,000 tonnes a year (t/y) of the One Pack Systems additive to supply the region’s polyethylene and polypropylene producers. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.

The production plant and warehouse project was designed by Abu Dhabi-based architectural and engineering group, WH International and is expected to take 12 months to construct.
