Contractors asked to submit commercial proposals in early August for Ruwais project

Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (Takreer) has once again delayed the deadline for bids on its flare gas recovery project at Ruwais refinery complex in the UAE.

Contractors have now been asked to submit commercial engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) bids in early August. The initial deadline was 31 May, which was then extended to 26 June and late July.

The estimated $150m scheme is designed to reduce the volume of gas flared in the emirate, as well as reducing emissions of carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide. The facility will also increase domestic natural gas supplies.

Companies submitting technical bids on 13 May included Switzerland’s ABB, Beijing-based China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), French group Litwin, and Indian contractors Essar Engineering Services and Punj Lloyd.
