Tatweer approaches contractors for Universal City

Tatweer has approached contractors for the contract to build the southern section of the AED8bn ($2.2bn) Universal City project at Dubailand.

The two-year contract involves the construction of a theme-park, retail area, and four hotels. Two of the hotels will be five star properties, one with 200 rooms the other with 300. The other two hotels will be four star with 400 rooms. The total built-up area will be about 1.5 million square metres. The northern section of the development will be residential.

US-based Parsons Brinckerhoff is the project manager. Canada’s Forrec prepared the masterplan. Norr Group, also of Canada is the consultant (MEED 15:6:07).
