Dutch group appointed project management consultant for Oman infrastructure scheme
- Pipeline project is worth $320m
- Tebodin is responsible for duties including providing project management and construction supervision
- The job includes an estimated 100,000 man hours over 2.5 years
Netherlands-based Tebodin has been awarded the project management consultancy (PMC) contract for the Muscat-Sohar Products Pipeline project in Oman.
The $320m project is planned by Orpic Logistics Company (OLC) to connect the countrys two oil refineries via a new oil storage terminal close to Muscat.
Tebodin is responsible for providing project management, construction supervision, detailed design review, quality, schedule and budget control services of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract. The job includes an estimated 100,000 man hours over 2.5 years.
OLC recently broke ground on the project after awarding the EPC contract to a consortium of Omans Gulf Petrochemical Services (GPS) and Spanish companies Abanita and Diseprosa.
OLC is a joint venture of state-owned Oman Oil Refining & Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) and Spains Compania Logistica de Hidrocarburos (CLH).
