French contractor to build pipelines for Dubai Petroleum at offshore fields
French engineering group Technip has been awarded a contract by Dubai Petroleum Establishment to build subsea pipelines off the coast of the UAE emirate.
The engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPIC) contract covers the replacement of a 12-inch gas pipeline and six 18-inch water injection pipelines at the South West Fatah and Falah fields.
Technip’s operating centre in Abu Dhabi will carry out the contract, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year, the company said.
Earlier this year, DPE awarded US-based McDermott a $10-15m-a-year contract for the turnkey facilities operations and maintenance contract for its offshore fields.
