Firms invited to submit bids for the upgrade of three lines by 15 January

The Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (IRIR) has extended the closing date to 15 January for companies to submit bids for the reconstruction of a railway line in Lorestan region.

The initial closing date for bids was 1 January. The project involves upgrading 60 kilometres of track and the work is expected to take 18 months to complete (MEED 9:11:10).

IRIR is also inviting bids by 15 January for the reconstruction of a railway line in Kerman region. This project will require the upgrade of 80km of track and will include the supply of all superstructure materials from the successful contractor. This work will also take 18 months. In another rail project, IRIR is inviting companies to submit bids by 15 January for the reconstruction and renewal of the second track of the railway line in Arak region. The contract period for this project is expected to take two years to complete.

Companies are still invited to submit bids by 1 January for the construction of a 200km railway line in Hormozgan province, which is in the south of Iran on the Gulf coast.
