Tehran plans for new motorway

27 November 2007
The local Tehran-Shomal Freeway Company has invited international and local contractors to submit prequalification applications for a contract to finance, design and build the third phase of a new motorway between Tehran and Shomal.

The contract covers the section between Zangoole bridge and Zoghal bridge, comprising a 48-kilometre, four-lane motorway, 35 kilometres of tunnels, and more than one kilometre of bridges.

The successful bidder will be required to finance 85 per cent of the project over the scheme’s 42-month construction period. Repayment will begin a year after completion of the project.

The consultant on project is the local Shahran Sazeh Company.
