The third trunkline package involves the installation of an 8.5-kilometre tunnel with a diameter of around 300 centimetres. Five companies bid for the contract in the summer.
The expansion of sewerage facilities in Tehran is supported by the World Bank, which is funding about 40 per cent of the project work, worth almost $350 million. The remainder is to be paid by the client, Tehran Sewerage Company.
