Ten price transmission line

20 October 2003
Ten companies have submitted bids for the supply and installation of a 200-kilometre, 400-kV transmission line between the planned power station at Marib and Sanaa. Companies had the option to bid for both the transmission line and the supply of two gas-insulated switchgear substations or to bid for just one of the contracts. Four firms bid for both packages (MEED 19:9:03). The client is the Public Electricity Corporation. An award is expected in January. Funding for the transmission line and substations is being provided by the Arab Fund for Economic & Social Development.
