Tender out for Habshan line

06 January 2006
Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Company (Gasco) has invited six local and international companies to submit technical bids on 18 February for the estimated $35 million-40 million engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to supply and install a 36-inch-diameter, 50-kilometre-long gas pipeline from Habshan to Bu Hasa.

A tentative deadline of 15 April has been set for the submission of commercial bids. The invitees are Paris-based Technip,India's Larsen & Toubro, US-based Willbros Group and National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), Al-Jaber Energy Services and Dodsal, all local.

The US' Fluor Corporation has carried out the front-end engineering and design (FEED) package.

The pipeline will transport gas to be made available from the phase 1 expansion of the Habshan gas complex, for which Fluor was awarded the $999 million EPC contract in October. The 32-month contract will involve the installation of a gas processing train to treat non-associated or associated gas and increasing gas injection capacity to 1,525 million cubic feet a day. The gas will be sourced from the onshore Bab and Bu Hasa fields (MEED 7:10:05).
