Under the estimated $25 million lump-sum-procure-build (LSPB) contract, the successful bidder will carry out procurement of materials and equipment and construction works, including 2,100 metres of sheet piling and widening of the jetty's existing approach channel. The works will involve about 740,000 cubic metres of dredging.
The project's scope also covers reclamation works, the construction of support buildings and the installation of safety and utility requirements. The project is part of a larger scheme being carried out by KJO to upgrade facilities in the NZ. KJO is jointly operated by Saudi Arabia's Aramco Gulf Operationsand Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC -MEED 5:12:03).
