Tenders out for MBZ city residential towers

Twelve companies have been invited to bid by 26 December for an estimated AED 800 million ($218 million) residential complex within Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi emirate. The package entails the construction of a shopping mall, three office towers and 10-15 residential towers.

The invited companies are Pivot Engineering & General Contracting Company, Target Engineering Construction Company, Al-Farah Contracting & General Transport Company, Nael & Bin Harmal, Dhabi Contracting Company, Al-Meraikhi General Contracting, Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprises, Commodore Contracting Company, Fedcoand Group 3, all local, and Turkey's Nurol Group.

The local APCC has started work on the piling, shoring, excavation and dewatering package. Abu Dhabi-based Al-Bayaty&Bainona Architectsis the design consultant. The US' Morgantiis the project manager. The client is a the local Link Investmentswith First Gulf Bank.

The Mohammed bin Zayed City project will see the construction of about 270 commercial and residential buildings, related infrastructure works and entertainment facilities. With total costs of about AED 14,000 million ($3,815 million), the project is estimated to cover an area of 20 square kilometres (MEED 9:12:05).
