Iraqi police say they fired shoots to disperse Kuwaiti protesters
Police in Iraq have said they fired shoots to disperse a group of Kuwaitis protesting near the disputed border between the two countries.
Tensions over the location of the border continue almost 20 years after Iraq formally accepted a UN-demarcated border. Kuwait’s state news agency Kuna said Iraqis had “sabotaged” the border fence and “obstructed UN-supervised border signs maintenance”.
