The Iranian energy ministry has said the country's thermal and hydro power plants have raised their power generation by 9% during the last five months compared with the same period last year, Fars news agency has reported. Iran's power plants generated over 102,101 giga watt hours (gwh) of electricity in the first 21 weeks of the current Iranian year (started on March 21) which shows an 8.36% increase compared to last year. The country's thermal power plants generated 96,823gwh of electricity while the share of the hydro power plants in the country's power generation stood at 5,278gwh during the same period.
