Package 1, estimated to be worth AED 200 million ($54 million), involves the supply and installation of two 400-kV substations to be located on the eastern ringroad beside the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA) main building.
The Abu Dhabi interconnection project is being tendered in three packages. Bids are under study for packages 2 and 3. Package 2, estimated to be worth AED 120 million ($33 million), covers the supply and installation of a 35-kilometre-long, 400-kV overhead transmission line between Mussafah and Umm al-Nar. The last package is for about 21 kilometres of cabling (MEED 22:11:02).
