The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) expects Saudis and expatriates to spend SR13.2bn ($3.5bn) on domestic tourism between July and September this year, Arab News has reported. A report by the Information and Research Centre of the SCTA has revealed that tourism revenue is to reach SR66 billion this year. Restaurants and coffee shops are expected to make SR36bn in revenue in 2010, up 9% compared to last year. "Tourists are expected to spend 79.5 million nights during the peak tourism season against 75 million nights last year," the report said, showing a 6% growth. It also predicted each tourist to spend an average of SR169 each night.
