Mushrif Trading & Contracting Companyand First Kuwaiti Trading & Contracting, both local, are the low bidders for two township infrastructure contracts following the submission of bids in early September. Mushrif is low bidder at KD 14.2 million ($49 million) for the contract to design and build infrastructure works on sector 1 of the Fahed al-Ahmed township. Its offer is marginally lower than the second lowest bid of KD 14.9 million ($51.4 million) submitted by the local CombinedGroup. First Kuwaiti is ranked third on price at KD 15.2 million ($52.4 million). For the second similar contract covering sector A5 of the Jaber al-Ahmed township, First Kuwaiti is low bidder at KD 15.8 million ($54.5 million). Mushrif submitted the second lowest offer of KD 16.7 million ($57.6 million), while the local Consolidated Contractors Company (Conco)is third on price at KD 17.2 million ($59 million). Both contracts cover infrastructure work for about 600 residential plots. The client, the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, is expected to award the work by the end of the year (MEED 20:5:05).
