Russian contractor submits lowest bid for road project at Oman’s Wadi Mistal
Oman’s Transport and Communications Ministry has received bids for a construction contract to build the first stage of the proposed asphalt road at Wadi Mistal.
The ministry received bids from nine contractors.
The low bidder is Russian contractor CNA Transstroy Engineering, with a price of OR6.08m ($15m). This is 1.3 per cent lower than the price of OR6.16m submitted by the second lowest bidder, the local Khalid Bin Ahmed & Sons. The local Sarooj Construction Company submitted the third lowest bid at OR7.1m.
Other bidders are Galfar Engineering & Contracting; National United Engineering & Construction Company; Desert Line Projects; Gulf Petrochemical Services & Trading; all local; Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company; and the local/Austrian Strabag.
