Local contractor submits lowest bid for road project in Al-Dhahira region

The Transport and Communications Ministry has received bids for a contract to build a road from Ad-Dariz to Yanqul, in the northwestern Al-Dhahira region of Oman.

The ministry received bids from 10 contractors on 29 March.

The local Al-Nahdha al-Omaniah Company submitted the lowest bid with a price of OR14.8m ($64.4m). This was 8.1 per cent lower than the OR16.1 price submitted by the second lowest bidder, the local Desert Line Projects. 

The local Ali & Company Trading & Contracting group submitted the third lowest bid with a price of OR16.4m.

The other bidders are the Khalid bin Ahmed & Sons, Galfar Engineering and Contracting, Gulf Petrochemical Services & Trading, National United Engineering & Construction Company, all local, the local/Austrian Strabag and the Indian firm Larsen & Toubro.
