The project aims to cater for a population of about 400,000 during peak summer months of the tourist season. Work will involve the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, collectors, drains and a sea discharge, and will be financed by credit arranged by Degremont.

Degremont with the local Mapa was also recently awarded a $34 million contract for the Yeni Emirli water treatment plant, part of the $270 million Yesilcay water supply project for Istanbul. The client is the State Hydraulic Works (MEED 18:4:97).
