A local joint venture of Barmek with Impresso has submitted the lowest two alternative bids for the construction of the Kadikoy sewage pre-treatment plant and sea outfall (MEED 6:6:97). The client is the Istanbul Water & Sewerage Administration (ISKI).
The 10 local bids received by ISKI were:
Barmek with Impresso - $39 million and $38.6 million
Epsilon and Gultekin - $41 million and $40.7 million
Lidya Yapi and Yercotec - $42.6 million and $42.3 million
Yuksel and Baysan - $44.5 million and $43.7 million
Vinsan Veziroglu - $47.86 million and $47.93 million
Sezai Turkes-Feyzi Akkaya and Tubin - $48.9 million and $48.4 million
Alke and EMT - $51.6 million and $51.4 million
Oztas and Tuna - $52.3 million and $51.6 million
Alarko with Kalyon and Vescon - $59.3 million and $59.5 million
Tekser - $60.4 million and $59.8 million
The project calls for the construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the first stage of a wastewater pre-treatment plant in Moda, Kadikoy, Istanbul, plus a sea discharge to convey the treated water to the Sea of Marmara. In a further stage, the wastewater will be pumped to a biological treatment plant yet to be constructed.
The estimated population to be served will be about 1.66 million by 2000, rising to about 2.99 million by 2020. The whole project will be constructed on
a turnkey basis with 100 per cent credit financing. Bidders must supply a credit at least 10 per cent higher than their tender price.
