TURKEY: Bids low for Istanbul water scheme

The local Yapisal Yapi has submitted the lowest bid of $52.8 million in a retender called for the third Terkos-Kagithane water supply conduit to Istanbul. The client is the Istanbul Water & Sewerage Administration (ISKI).

The eight local bidders and their prices for the contract are:

Yapisal Yapi - $52.8 million LCC and Udya Ortak Girisin - $59.99 million Eksiogullari - $62.2 million Akfen - $62.5 million Attila Dogan with Gungen - $63.7 million Tekser - $64 million Tekfen - $67.8 million Dogus - $72.8 million The project calls for the construction of a water intake at Terkos lake, together with a pumping station; the laying of around 40 kilometres of steel or steel core pipeline; and procurement of seven pumps together with their installation.
