The Energy & Natural Resources Ministry has finalised contracts worth $275 million with local firms for the operation of the power networks in five group B regions. In January, it awarded contracts worth $1,610 million for the operation of seven group A power networks in the west and centre of the country (MEED 16:1:98).
The five contracts are:
The Afyon-Usak-Burdur-Isparta network was awarded to a consortium which includes Ozerler Holding for $60 million
The Samsun-Ordu-Sinop network was awarded to Kurpa and Park Holding for $50 million
The Elazig-Malatya-Tunceli-Bingol network was awarded to Gap Iplik Sanayi for $60 million
The Kahramanmaras-Adiyaman network was awarded to a consortium which includes Kipas for $60 million
The Sanliurfa network was awarded to a consortium which includes Sured and the Sanliurfa Municipality for $45 million.
The winning groups are required to set up companies to run the networks over a 30-year period. The ministry is evaluating bids on a further 11 contracts covering group B regions.
