Turks awarded Mirdif Villas contracts

Local developer Dubai Properties, part of Dubai Holding, has awarded TAV Gulf, part of Turkey's TAV, an estimated AED 580 million ($158 million) contract on a major residential project in Mirdif, known as Mirdif Villas (MEED 24:2:06).

The package covers the construction of 42 three-storey buildings each with 34 units. The contract duration is 19 months. An award is awaited on three further packages covering the construction of 250 villas.

The local Wade Adams Contracting has started work on the project's infrastructure package, while Khansaheb Civil Engineering, also local, has completed the initial earthworks package.

The UK's Mace International is the project manager. Canada-based Cansult is the infrastructure design consultant. The consultant for the buildings is the local office of KEO International Consultants. Spain's Nombela & Asociados is the concept architect.
