The local Al-Nahr Companyhas the contract to supply and install the project’s 200-kilometre pipeline and Germany’s Siemenswill carry out electrical works. The Jefara Water System Utilisation Authority will operate the system, which will be fed water from the Hasouna-Jefara section of the great man-made river. Total project costs are estimated at about $300 million (MEED 14:12:01, Cover Story).
