UK consultant will oversee work at Muscat and Salalah
UK-based construction consultancy Turner & Townsend has won programme management contract to support the delivery of operational and security systems, and IT networks for Muscat International and Salalah airports in Oman.
New terminals are being constructed at the two airports to boost their capacity, with both facilities due to open in 2014.
The management contract was awarded by UK-based Ultra Electronics. The company was awarded the RO127.5m ($331.2m) airport systems contract in April by Oman’s Transport & Communications Ministry.
The management contract award follows the announcement in early December that Turner & Townsend has opened a permanent office in Muscat.
