Airport contract covers customer services
G4S UAE has won an $8.1m customer service contract at Dubai International airport.
The company will work with Dubai Airports on the contract, which will run until December 2012. The contract covers offering flight and hotel information, general information and assistance to passengers.
“Acquiring a service partner that understands the demand of an ever-growing international airport and comprehensively meets the high standard of aviation security were key elements that Dubai Airports mutually establish this new partnership with G4S,” says Ahmed al-Shamali, head of operations and planning at Dubai Airports.
In 2010, 47.2 million passengers passed through Dubai International airport. Dubai Airports expects to receive about 50.9 million passengers in 2011.
A $7.8bn airport and airspace expansion was approved for Dubai International airport in July (MEED 6:7:11). The expansion will increase capacity to 90 million passengers a year by 2018.
G4S UAE is the local subsidiary of the UK’s Group 4 Security.
