Drake & Scull to install water injection network for oil field consortium

UAE-based Drake & Scull has been awarded a AED226m ($62m) contract for the construction of a water injection network installation project at the Zubair oil field in Iraq.

The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) was awarded by Eni Iraq, a subsidiary of Italy-based oil and gas group Eni.

Drake & Scull will oversee the EPC of a gas supply pipeline system to a power plant in addition to water injection systems consisting of flow lines, trunk lines, manifolds stations and wellheads hook-up work to enhance oil recovery (EOR).

The project is expected to be completed in early 2018, Drake & Scull said.

The Zubair oil field development is jointly operated by Eni Iraq, US-based Occidental Petroleum and Korea Gas Corporation (Kogas).

Drake & Scull has previously worked with the consortium when it installed a pipeline at the Zubair field in Basra province between 2012 and 2015.
