The UAE health ministry has decided to join the Bone Marrow Donors Worldwide (BMDW), an international programme aimed at increasing the number of global donors, Gulf News has reported. The move follows an inexplicable rise in leukaemia and lymphoma cases in surrounding countries. Bone marrow transplant can help cure leukaemia and lymphoma if the deadly diseases are detected early.
