The UAE’s first major study of attitudes towards HIV and Aids is set to be launched by the health ministry, with the help of the UN children’s fund, Unicef, and the UN Development Programme (UNDP), The National has reported. Set for completion by the end of March 2011, the study aims to determine how much students in the UAE already know about the nature and scale of the disease. A UN report in May said a total of 636 UAE nationals were living with HIV last year.
