Abu Dhabi-based Al-Sharafi Group has put up for sale its Union Iron and Steel (UIS) mill for an undisclosed sum, Meed has reported, citing an unnamed source. The 300,000 tonne-a-year (t/y) plant located at Mussafah Industrial City has been facing a drop in demand for steel rebar and wire mesh in the UAE’s construction industry, according to the source.
