UK engineering firm Petrofac says it has been awarded a $265m contract by Oman’s majority state-owned oil firm Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).
Petrofac will develop PDO’s Marmul Polymer phase 3 project in southern Oman.
This is the first job Petrofac has secured as part of a 10-year framework agreement with PDO.
Under the agreement, Petrofac will provide engineering, procurement & construction management (EPCM) support services for PDO's key oil and gas projects.
It will involve work associated with around 500 producing and 75 injector wells.
Petrofac is already working on the EPC of BP’s Khazzan gas project in Oman.
