Bahrain’s Tatweer Petroleum, a subsidiary of state-owned National Oil & Gas Authority (Nogaholding), has awarded a multi-million dollar additional scope of work contract to UK-based contractor Petrofac, for its gas dehydration plant.
The award follows Petrofac completing an earlier job of installing the 500 million standard cubic feet a day (cf/d) of gas dehydration facility for Tatweer.
Under the terms of the contract, Petrofac will execute - on a lump-sum turnkey basis - the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of additional gas wells and connect them to the gas dehydration facility.
The central dehydration plant and newly proposed well expansion mark the first in a series of planned gas capacity projects scheduled for the next three to five years. This is part of Tatweer’s commitment to securing delivery of the natural gas it needs to meet Bahrain’s growing demand, the operator has previously said.
Neither Tatweer nor Petrofac revealed the duration of the newly awarded contract, nor the volume of gas to be produced by the additional wells.
