IAEA team returns to Iran for second time in less than a month
UN nuclear inspectors have arrived in Tehran for the second time in a month to assess Iran’s nuclear programme.
A delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) first arrived in Iran on 29 January. The aim of the latest visit is to clarify the “possible military dimensions” of Iran’s nuclear programme, says IAEA deputy director Herman Nackearts.
Despite growing international concerns, Iran’s leaders continue to maintain the nuclear programme is for civilian purposes only.
