Firms have been requested to file their interest to USACE by 15 May. Further details will then be posted on the US government's Federal Business Opportunities website before request for proposal documents are issued for the design and build contract.
A spokeswoman for the USACE said the website notice had been issued as a market survey to assess industry interest in the fixed price contract.
The project includes billeting facilities, dining facility, fitness centre, medical facility, fire station, community mall, dog kennel and site security-related facilities and systems.
The spokeswoman said the competition was open to allcomers but confirmed that bids from non-US firms would be evaluated by adding 20 per cent to the value of the bid, in accordance with US military procurement rules in the Gulf.
