Subcontractor to carry out work for Saudi Binladin Group

The local Vision Electro Mechanical Company has won a SR1.3bn ($346m) subcontract for electrical and mechanical works at Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University for Women in Riyadh.

The 24-month contract involves electrical and mechanical work for the university campus, including installing the electricity network, lighting control systems, cooling and heating systems, water distribution networks, fire alarms and sanitation work.

Vision is a subsidiary of the local Construction Products Holding Company (CPC) and won the order from the local Saudi Binladin Group. The latter won a SR10bn contract for building work on the project in January 2009 from the kingdom’s Finance Ministry.

The 4-million-square-metre campus includes administrative and faculty buildings, as well as residential areas for students and staff, a commercial mall, sports centres, and a monorail (MEED 23:8:09).
