Qatar’s telecoms operator, ictQatar, had given the mobile phone company until the end of November to list its shares (MEED 27:5:08).
The regulator originally wanted the initial public offering to take place before the end of June, but it had to give Vodafone Qatar more time after the Qatari government delayed the issuing of the licence.
UK mobile phone group Vodafone is the largest shareholder with 23 per cent of the company. Its Qatari partner, the Qatar Foundation, has 22 per cent and a group of government-backed institutional investors have the remaining 15 per cent.
