Wade Adams given sporting chance

The local Wade Adams Contractinghas been selected for the estimated AED 390 million ($106 million) main infrastructure package at Dubai Sports City (DSC). The 17-month package involves the construction of the development's entire road network, irrigation drainage systems and power distribution network (MEED 25:11:05).
DSC is also expected to make an award by the end of January for the main construction package on stadium S3 after three joint ventures were shortlisted in November. The shortlisted JVs are: the local Arabtec Construction, with Germany's Max Boegl; the local Emirates Bilbadi Contracting, with Austria's Alpina; and the local Transemirates Contracting Company, with Beijing-based China State Construction Engineering Company.

Lebanon's Khatib & Alamiis the consultant for the road and infrastructure works and Switzerland-based Electrowatt-Ekonohas been appointed as the consultant for the power distribution network. Australia's Clifton Coney Groupis the project manager for the stadiums and Germany's Architekten von Gerkan, Marg & Partners (GMP)is the architect and designer.

DSC is being promoted by a group of local investors, made up of Abdul Rahim al-Zarooni, Abdul Rahman Falaknaz and Abdul Rahman Bukhatir.
