The Energy Ministry has invited 10 local contractors to submit bids by 25 March for the contract to build water storage tanks at Al-Zour in the south.

The estimated $150 million-250 million contract covers the engineering, procurement and construction of five reinforced concrete ground tanks, each with capacity of 55 million gallons. The work also includes site preparation and the construction of access roads, related infrastructure and landscaping.

The contract is similar to the Subiya and Mina al-Ahmadi water storage and distribution schemes, which collectively involve the construction of 11 concrete water storage tanks (MEED 19:1:07).
