Canadian exploration and production company WesternZagros Resources has awarded two drilling rig contracts to an unnamed US contractor to work at the Garmian Block the company operates in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The contract will run for two years and the drilling rigs will be predominantly used on the Hasira-1 Baram-1 wells and the contract includes the provision of a further rig if required.
